A luxury riverside lodge on the banks of the Sabie River, just meters from the Paul Kruger Gate. Built beneath a canopy of riverine woodland trees, known for warm hospitality and giving guests a grounding, indulgent stay. Arrival & Afternoon Game Drive

Arrive at Skukuza Airport and transfer through Kruger National Park to your lodge on the Sabie River. Settle in, enjoy lunch, then depart at 3:00 PM for your first open-vehicle game drive through the Southern Kruger bushveld. Return for a chef-prepared dinner under the stars.

Full Day Safari: Southern Kruger

Pre-sunrise departure at 5:30 AM with breakfast packs. Morning drive focuses on Big Five tracking through river crossings and watering holes. Stop at a rest camp for coffee. Return to the lodge by 11:00 AM for pool and lunch. Afternoon departure at 2:30 PM explores new territory until gate closing time.

Getting There

Your journey begins with a flight from Johannesburg or Cape Town to Skukuza Airport. Flights are offered by Airlink daily. Your guide will meet you at the airport for a scenic 35-minute transfer through Kruger National Park to your lodge.

What should I pack for a safari?

Neutral-coloured clothing (khaki, olive, brown), comfortable walking shoes, a warm jacket for early mornings, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, binoculars, and a good camera with a zoom lens.

Is it safe to go on safari?

Absolutely. You are always accompanied by professionally trained and licensed guides who prioritise your safety. Game drives are conducted in specially designed vehicles, and lodges have trained staff on hand at all times.

What is the best time of year for a safari?

The dry winter months (May to September) offer the best game viewing as animals congregate around water sources and vegetation is thinner. However, summer (October to March) brings lush greenery, newborn animals, and migrant birds.

Do I need vaccinations?

A Yellow Fever certificate is required if travelling from an endemic country. Malaria prophylaxis is recommended for Kruger and lowveld areas. Consult your travel clinic 6-8 weeks before departure.

Can children join the safari?

Age restrictions vary by itinerary (see the minimum age listed). Most lodges welcome children 8+ on game drives. Private vehicle bookings can sometimes accommodate younger children, so ask us.

What happens if it rains?

Game drives go ahead in light rain, and animals are often more active. Ponchos are provided. Only in extreme weather conditions (rare) would a drive be cancelled, and an alternative activity arranged.
