Emergency numbers
Every number is tap-to-call on a phone. Cell signal is patchy in the reserves and inside the Kruger, so save this page before you go. If a number does not answer, 112 from any cellphone reaches the emergency services.
National emergency numbers
Free, and they work from anywhere in South Africa.

Hospitals
There is no hospital in Hoedspruit itself; these are the nearest.

The emergency number for the park is also printed on your entry permit. Before you leave a camp or gate, tell reception your route and when you expect to be out, and stay in your vehicle outside the marked get-out points.
Community safety in Hoedspruit
Hoedspruit Farmwatch & Townwatchis the town's community security network, working with the police on incidents across the farms, estates and town.
The Hoedspruit Victim Support Unit (VSU) has worked since 2008 with Hoedspruit SAPS and Farmwatch to help victims of traumatic experiences in the region. It deals with the first 72 hours after an incident, helping a victim through the shock and to recall the details the police need, and it helps at road accidents, particularly where tourists or visitors are stranded.
