Munene Art Gallery in Hoedspruit is so much more than just a curio shop for tourists. It is a hub of economic support and activity for artists and craftspeople as we exhibit and sells original works of art by local and aspiring artists. We choose not to take artworks on consignment; instead we prefer to pay artists upfront for their creativity. This way of operating means that artists are able to maintain a more stable income. We also collaborate with the Hoedspruit community and are always keen to work with safari guides, lodge owners, NGO’s and other retail outlets to raise the profile of the gallery and generate more income so we can continue to discover fresh, new talent to exhibit in our shop.
