The Runway Restaurant & Bar: eat beside a real Boeing 737 at Aerotel Hoedspruit.

The Runway serves contemporary South African food with Asian-inspired touches, seven days a week from 07:00 to 20:00. It's open to everyone, not just hotel guests, and walk-ins are welcome.

Breakfast runs 07:00-10:00, lunch 12:00-14:00 and dinner 18:00-20:00. Try the signature parathas, crispy Indian-style flatbreads with South African fillings, or share tapas-style small plates like Bobotie Cigars and Boerewors Pops. There's a kids menu too.

Sundowners are the highlight. Happy Hour runs daily from 16:00 to 18:00, with all craft gin-tails at R69, including the signature Blue Devil. Non-alcoholic versions are available on request.

Pick your spot: the Sky Deck for Drakensberg views at sunset, the Pool Deck beside the mosaic aviation compass pool, or The Boma for fire-pit dining on special evenings. The spaces can also be hired for private events.

Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halaal-friendly options are available with advance notice. Cash and card accepted, with free WiFi and free secure parking. The Runway is fully licensed, so no own drinks or cooler boxes.
