Kruger Half Day Safari, Private Vehicle
Overview
Kruger National Park without giving up the whole day. A private open safari vehicle and a guide collect your group from your stay in Hoedspruit early in the morning, and about an hour later you are through the park gate while the animals are still on the move.
You spend the morning driving between viewpoints and waterholes, with coffee, tea, rusks and a morning snack along the way. There is a short break at one of Kruger's rest camps, where you can buy a drink or a light meal, then more time in the park before you head home. You are back at your door 7 to 8 hours after you left, with the afternoon free.
It is good for families with young children, for anyone who has a flight or another activity later in the day, and for guests who want Kruger without a 12 hour day. One price covers the vehicle for up to 6 guests. SANParks conservation fees are added when you book, at cost, for each guest.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
R5,500 for the vehicle, whether you are 1 guest or 6. SANParks conservation fees are added when you book, at cost, for each guest.
Half day or full day: which should we choose?
The half day is 7 to 8 hours and leaves your afternoon free. Our Kruger Full Day Safari, Private Vehicle is about 12 hours, with a lunch stop and more ground covered, so more chances at a sighting. Both are private, for up to 6 guests.
Is this the same as your shared Full Day Kruger Safari?
No. Our Full Day Kruger Safari is shared and priced per person. This one is private and shorter: the vehicle and the guide are only for your group.
What time do you collect us?
Early. The day starts at 05:00, and we confirm your exact pickup time with you before the day. You are back in Hoedspruit 7 to 8 hours later.
Is food included?
Coffee, tea, rusks, a morning snack and bottled water are included. At the rest camp break you can buy a drink or a light meal.
How do park fees work?
SANParks charges a conservation fee for each guest, each day. We add it to your booking at cost, by nationality. From 1 November 2026 an adult (12 and older) pays R140 as a South African, R296 as a SADC national and R692 as an international visitor; children pay R70, R147 and R345.
Do children count towards the 6?
Yes. Every guest takes a seat, so the vehicle takes up to 6 people, children included. The vehicle price stays the same; only the conservation fee is lower for children.
How do I book and pay?
Pick a date and the number of guests, then pay online by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Your booking is confirmed by email. Book by 20:00 the evening before.
What if we need to cancel?
Cancel up to 48 hours before the start and you get a full refund. Within 48 hours of the start there is no refund.
